Frederick Bodmer

Frederick Nicholas Bodmer 83, of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025.

Born on November 2, 1941, in Philadelphia, Fred was the son of the late Frederick Bodmer and Elsie Tuffner Bodmer. He was a graduate of Father Judge High School, where he formed lasting friendships and laid the foundation for a life dedicated to family and hard work.

Fred was married to the late Margaret “Peggy” Malpezzi Bodmer for 50 years until her passing in August 2015. Together, they raised four children: Theresa (Christopher) George, Megan (Stephen) Verdi, Frederick Bodmer, and Nicholas (Megan) Bodmer. He was a devoted and loving grandfather to Kyle, Joshua, Kayla, Angeline, Nathan, Zachary, Olivia, and Ella; and great-grandfather to Cole, who brought him immense joy in his later years.

Fred worked for over two decades as a Federal Reserve Officer in Philadelphia, where he made an impact on many throughout his career. He spent much of his life living and working in Philadelphia, but he treasured his time away, especially summers spent at the Jersey Shore—particularly in Sea Isle and Ocean City, NJ. Known for his love of nature, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in Potter County, where he spent many memorable weekends. Frederick had a passion for music, especially rock, and played the guitar for friends and family alike.

Fred was a kind-hearted, generous man, whose legacy will live on in the memories of his family and friends. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to Frederick’s Life Celebration on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 South Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047. His Memorial Service will follow at 11:00am.

Inurnment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
