Emil Tevini

Emil Tevini of Novato passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23rd, 2025, after surviving a long fight with lung cancer. 

He was predeceased by his wife Judy in 2019 after sharing 59 years together; their grandson Marco passed in 2022. 

He is survived by their four children: John (Christine), Gene (Andrea), Suzanne and Janna (Ron); their grandchildren Franco, Rico, Haleigh, Dylan (Sara), Mallory and Travis, their great-grandchild Rozalyn “Rozzy”, his sister Alley Derenzi (Gene), his niece Kari, his sister in-law Joan Lawrence and many cousins/extended family.

Emil was born in San Francisco in 1939 to Emil and Alice Tevini, deceased, and he spent his life in the Bay Area. He was the second child of four with siblings Chiara and Guido Tevini having passed before him. He attended school in San Francisco, and graduated from Balboa High School.

He married Judy in April of 1960, and started their family in San Francisco. They moved to Novato in 1968 to continue to live and raise their children.

Emil was a meat cutter/butcher for 40 years supporting his family while enjoying their many activities and sports in their growing years.

Judy and Emil enjoyed traveling and taking many cruises together and with family and friends. They shared a love of the SF Giants, and 49ers. Emil always enjoyed trips to Reno, Graton, River Rock and the race track!

They shared many family gatherings from the celebration of birthdays, graduations and just quick get-togethers at the family home in Novato.

A celebration to honor Emil’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, at:
