Elmer Humes, Jr.
Elmer C. Humes, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday evening October 3, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital at 89 years. Elmer was dearly loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed. Predeceased by parents Elmer and Ellen Humes, and stepmother Dorothy Truesdale Humes; sisters Dr. Maryellen Humes and Jean Anne Metcalf. Survived by his wife Suzanne of 65 years; daughters Betsy (Ben) Carter and Carolyn (Peter) Hotchkiss; grandchildren William, Briggs, and Ivy Carter, Parker and Winifred Hotchkiss.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing may make a donation to WXXI in Elmer’s honor or a charity of their choice.
