Elder James Hamilton
Elder James Arthur Hamilton, 85, husband of Betty Hamilton, passed away at his residence on October 15, 2025. He was born December 22, 1939 to the late Waldon & Katie Hamilton. James was a retired coal miner, farmer & a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church for over 40 years. In addition to his wife, James is survived by two sons: James Michael (Rita) Hamilton of Betsy Layne, KY & Terry (Lucia) Hamilton of Abington, VA; five grandchildren: Jody (Leslie), Tyler (Missy), Brenton, Misty Joslin (Nathan) & Timmy (Whitney); fourteen great grandchildren: Morgan (Andrew), Macy, Gunner, Molly, Sophie, Ryder, Elizabeth, Nevaeh, Heaven, Ellee, Ronnie Mac, Shanona, Kymmeri & Bialise. Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by one son: Timmy Dean Hamilton; one grandson: Chase Hamilton, four brothers: Arnold Hamilton, Abel Hamilton, Avron Hamilton & Johnnie Hamilton; sisters: Kathryn Bryant, Dayfine Johnson, Ira Mae Hamilton, Mable Hamilton & Alma Keathley and a host of nieces and nephews. James was loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
Visitation after 6pm Friday (October 17, 2025) and all day Saturday (October 18, 2025) at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin, KY
Funeral services will be held Sunday (October 19, 2025) at the funeral home with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg, KY
