Dovie Allen

Dovie Jean Allen, 72 of Ashland, KY, passed away May 13, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, WV. Born February 24, 1954 in Martin, KY, she was the daughter of the late Blucher & Laura Crager Allen. Dovie was a homemaker and a member of the Hueysville Church of Christ. Dovie is survived by her children: John Wayne (Sherry) Shepherd of Langley, KY and Latrisha Duff of Ashland, KY; grandchildren: Autumn Shepherd, Summer Shepherd & John Blake Shepherd; one great grandchild on the way: Westland; brother: Russell Allen of Salyersville, KY and one sister: Lillian Vanderpool of Hueysville, KY. Along with her parents, Dovie is preceded in death by her brothers & sisters: Sydney Allen, Burton Allen, Gordon Allen, Jr. Allen, Gladys Bailey, Mavis Gearheart, Minnie Ramey, Alice Kelly, Virginia Dare Allen & Ora Lee Hall. Dovie will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be after 6pm Friday, May 16, 2025 at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin

Funeral services will be held 12pm Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the funeral home with Chester Varney officiating. Burial will follow in the Lick Fk Fork Family Cemetery, Hueysville, KY
