Dorlis Pippin
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Geesey-Ferguson Chapel in Crowley for Dorlis Myers Pippin, age 85, who passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 in Crowley.
Pastor Corey Pippin, her grandson, will officiate her services. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 4:00 pm at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
Dorlis was a native of Merryville and a resident of Crowley. She worked as a caregiver at Big Apple Daycare for many children over the years. She enjoyed tending to her Hibiscus and Knockout Roses. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the stars in her eyes and she cherished each moment spent with them.
She is survived by her companion, Russell LeBlanc; three children, Carol P. Henderson and husband, Darrin, Danny J. Pippin and wife, Barbara, and Ronald J. Pippin and companion, Mary Lormand; three siblings, Forest Sam Myers, Jr., Orlis M. Yawn and Phillip Myers; ten grandchildren, Laura Henderson Leonards, Ty Henderson, Bryce Lyons, Chris Fuentes, Corey Pippin, Logan Pippin, Boyd Pippin, Margo Pippin Domingue, Dillan Pippin and Conner Pippin; twenty three great grandchildren, Vincent Fuentes, Violet Fuentes, Jack Lyons, Audrey Lyons, Joe Lyons, Vivianne Pippin, Caroline Pippin, Jude-Everett Pippin, Abigail Pippin, Wes Pippin, John William Leonards, David Leonards, Paul Leonards, Amelia Henderson, Hugh Henderson, Garrett Pippin, Annie Pippin, Harper Pippin, Livie Pippin, Mila Pippin, Mason Domingue, Riley Domingue, Elise Domingue and one on the way, Forrest Pippin; her bonus daughters, Donna Roy, Sherry Broussard and Stella Thibodeaux; and her bonus son, Keith Leonards.
Dorlis was preceded in death by her husband, H.D. “Redbone” Pippin; her parents, Forest Sam Myers and the former Grace Burgess; and five siblings, Evelyn Lee Tilly, Wayne Myers, Jimmy Myers, Doug Myers and Tangy Sellers.
Pallbearers will be Ty Henderson, Bryce Lyons, Logan Pippin, Boyd Pippin, Dillan Pippin and Conner Pippin. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Fuentes and Corey Pippin.
The Pippin family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Southwind Nursing and Rehab as well as Dr. Robert Aertker , Dr. Saini and Iota Family Pharmacy for their outstanding care and kindness.
