Donald Leslie Williamson, age 78, passed away at Autumn Breeze Healthcare Center in Marietta, Georgia on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Born August 12, 1936, in Kingston, Jamaica, Donald was the second of four children born to Delrietta “Rita” and Ronald Williamson: Barbara, Donald, Kenneth and Dorothy Williamson. During his formative years, he learned the trade of fine cabinet manufacturing from Mr. Gladstone Thompson, one of Jamaica’s most prestigious at the time. While honing his skills in the cabinetry industry, Donald fell in love with, and married, Marie Louise Turner; later having three sons: Michael, Mark and Donald Jr. Along with his family, inclusive of his brother Kenneth, Donald migrated to the United States in 1958 to join his mother in New York. He was later drafted into the United States Army and served his full term of four years, retiring with an honorable discharge. He went on to become a building contractor and developer in the United States of America as well as in Jamaica, West Indies. Donald Williamson was well liked and respected by all who knew him and was a pillar of strength to his family and relatives. Survivors include his son Mark, brother Kenneth, sister Dorothy, nephews Paul, Matthew, Kenneth Jr., Ronald, grand nieces and grand nephews, several cousins and dear friends. Donald was preceded in death by his older sister Barbara and his wife of fifty four years, Marie Louise Williamson.
