It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Leon Thomas (known as DayDay), Age 58, of Chicago, IL on November 18, 2025. He was born on April 23, 1967, in Chicago, IL to Sharleen Quevedo and Oscar Colon. David was known for his love of music, break dancing, and Bruce Lee’s movies and quotes. He was a free spirit (lone wolf), caregiver to many and brought humor to all. David is survived by 1 son David Matthew Thomas, his mother Sharleen Quevedo (Cesar Quevedo), 2 Sisters Elvira Puente (Juan Puente) and Diane Quevedo, 4 nephews Chevelle Clements (Danielle Clements), Elijah Clements, Donovan Puente and Landon Puente, 2 nieces Gina Clements and Madilyn Puente, Goddaughter Rania Rosario, 6 great nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Colon, his grandparents Fred & Elva Thomas, as well as many beloved family and friends. A celebration of David’s life will be held on December 6, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home which is located at 6150 N. Cicero Ave Chicago, IL 60646.
