Daryl Martin

Daryl Martin passed away peacefully in Georgetown, Kentucky on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the age of 83. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on August 2, 1942 to the late Nona and E. J. Martin. Daryl is survived by his wife of 37 years, Connie Nelson Martin, his son Michael (Lisa) Martin, his sister, Peggy Cox, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After high school in Glasgow, Daryl enlisted in the U.S. Army for three years where he served as an interceptive Morse code operator. He then attended Western Kentucky University earning a BA in psychology and MPS in child development. He worked for many years in mental health and mental retardation services in both state government and private organizations. In 1981, Daryl joined the U.S. Navy Reserves, serving for nine years. He would always say the food was better in the Navy.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Daryl from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29th at the Cherry Blossom Golf & Country Club Clubhouse, located at 150 Clubhouse Drive in Georgetown. To open the Celebration, Military Honors will be presented at 4:00 pm by the American Legion Post 24 Honor Guard.
