Crystal’s Crusade fundraiser, celebration happening Friday in downtown Carson City
- June 4, 2025

Crystal’s Crusade, an annual gathering, celebration of life and fundraiser for cancer patient families, is happening this Friday, June 6, in downtown Carson City.
The fundraising event celebrates the life of Crystal Briscoe, who died at the age of 31 from cancer in 2017. The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. at Telegraph Square in front of the Westside Pour House.
As in previous celebrations, Curry Street between Telegraph Street and Spear Street will be closed Friday, from 5 to 11 p.m. for the event.
This year there will be two local bands, Morgan MacKenzie and Billboard Lawyer.
In addition to Shoe Tree Brewery Company beer, organizers will also be serving specialty drinks in honor of Crystal’s 40th birthday, a teal champagne and a teal rum drink.
There will also be raffle and a silent auction. All money raised will go to the Crystal Crusade nonprofit, which raises money for a family or families who have loved ones that have been diagnosed with cancer so they can go on vacation and make memories.
Crystal’s mother, Loretta Fagan, explained the purpose of the fundraiser — similar to Make a Wish — is to raise money to give to a family or families who have been diagnosed with cancer to go have fun.
Fagan is co-organizer of Crystal’s Crusade along with Alicia Wilson, Crystal’s sister and Ryan Briscoe, Crystal’s husband.
Fagan said the birthday celebration comes eight years after she passed away at 31.
“From the time she was diagnosed to the time she passed we made it a point to go on vacations and just have fun. So often, with a cancer diagnosis you are unable to think about or even afford a vacation. That is what we want the money we give the family to go for, to make memories,” said Fagan.
The community is invited to join family and friends at Telegraph Square in front of Westside Pour House, 110 W Telegraph St., Carson City, to celebrate Crystal’s 40th birthday.
