Cora Mae Towles Sargent, 90, widow of Bennie Sargent, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Windsor Gardens of Georgetown. Born April 23, 1935 in Scott County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Herbert C. and Beatrice Robey Towles.

Cora Mae was a graduate of Great Crossing High School and a faithful member of Great Crossing Baptist Church. She worked for many years managing the office for Boden’s Photography. Cora Mae loved her family and enjoyed time with her friends at Windsor Gardens. She was particularly fond of Bingo and was known to make plans so she wouldn’t miss any Bingo.

In addition to her loving parents, Herbert and Beatrice Towles, devoted husband, Bennie Sargent, Jr., she was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Gene Towles.

Cora Mae will be forever loved and remembered by her children, Ben Allen (Pamela) Sargent, Jackie Ann (Kenneth, Jr.) Grant, Robyn Sargent (Terry Kenley); brother, Ronnie (Kathy) Towles, all of Georgetown, and sister, Mary Jo Young, of Owenton. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, grandchildren, Monica (Scott) Davis, Georgetown, Cody (Jessica) Grant, Stamping Ground, Tyler (Morgan) Sargent, Georgetown, Corbin (Lauren) Sargent, Huntsville, Al; great-grandchildren, Brady Davis, Zoe Davis, K.C. Grant, Kenleigh Grant, Sophia Sargent, Benson Sargent, Caroline Mae Sargent, Kennedy Sargent, and Casey Sargent.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, Bobby Joe Young officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the funeral service at Georgetown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bennie Tom Sargent, Billy Sargent, Lynne Sargent, Charles Michael Ritchie, Bobby Young, Brian Young, Tim Towles, and Chris Towles.

Cora Mae’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Staff of Windsor Gardens, T.G. Murray, Lee Bramer, Amanda Caskey, and Dr. Megha Desai, for all their love, care, and support they have provided. In memory of Cora Mae and her love for Bingo and all the other activities she loved at Windsor Gardens, memorial contributions are suggested to Windsor Gardens Activity Fund, 100 Windsor Path, Georgetown, KY 40324. Friends and family are encouraged to leave messages of condolence and share memories here on Cora Mae’s tribute wall.
