Charles Edgar “Jughead” Wolfe of Harrisville, WV departed this earth the morning of September 29, 2025 at Belmont Healthcare Center, Belmont, WV. Born on August 30, 1950 and growing up in Ritchie County, WV he spent many years enjoying hunting, fishing and especially riding his Harley. In later years he enjoyed traveling around in his side by side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dale “Hap” and Ruby Backus Wolfe. his brother John Wolfe and his half-brother Dale Seese; also, his grandparents John and Mary Lewellyn Wolfe and John and Hattie Barker Backus.
Jughead was a Harrisville High School graduate with the class of 1968 where he was a member of the Gator marching band and the folk club. He enlisted in the US Air Force after graduation and served his country for six years serving in Taiwan and Guam. He then worked for the WV Department of Highways and retired from Troy Mills, LLC.
He was a member of the Harmony Mission Community of Christ church. He also spent time in member ship with the Harrisville Moose Lodge. He spent a lot of weekends going on charity runs on his motorcycle.
Jug had a personality larger than life and he never met a stranger. He especially enjoyed fellowship with his many biker friends, the Washburn General Store gang, coworkers, family and many friends.
Jughead is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Morton Wolfe, whom he married in 1978, and would have celebrated their 47″ anniversary on October 21%. He left behind his four nephews, John Roger (Eleana) Wolfe, Adrian (Annette) Wolfe, Scott Wolfe, Ryan (Suzanne) Smith and one niece Amanda (Andre) McKenzie. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews Hunter Andrus, Caleb Wolfe, Amanda Wolfe, Aubree McKenzie, Ashlee McKenzie, Avery McKenzie, Adeline Smith and Emery Smith and one great-great niece Cierra. Also, his sister-in-law Becky Wolfe and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roger and Nancy Smith.
His family would like to extend thanks to all the people who took time to come visit him while he was in the nursing home and all the many cards and calls, he received which brought him much comfort and support.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, Oct. 3, 2025 at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with Elder Pat Hoover and Rev. Jim Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the King Knob Cemetery near Harrisville. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 PM.
