Charles Edward Cox passed away peacefully at his home on April 11,2025. He was born on July 5, 1939 in Orlando, Florida, to Dewy and Mary Ellin Evans Cox. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and worked as a crane operator for over 35 years. He loved being outside working around the house, growing his garden. camping, and fishing.
Charles leaves behind his loving wife of sixty-five years,Geneva Cox, his children, Renee Pannell (Glenn), Jeff Cox; Steve Cox (April); Gina Estes (Jeremy). He is also survived by his grandchildren;Kyndall Pannell, Ashley Cox, Hunter Cox, Ethan Estes, and Sidney Estes; 1 great-grandson, Beckham Cox; sisters, Emogene Hunsinger of Birmingham, Margaret McKinney of Michigan, Lynda Barber of Haleyville, and Martha L. Miles (Jimmy Dale) of Winfield; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Junior, Billy, O’Neal, and Larry; sisters, Mary Lou Burnett and Wilma Fay Cox; brothers-in-law, Henry Cantrell, Dave McKinney, and Ralph Burnett; granddaughter, Kaylee Reanna Pannell.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 17, 2025, 1:00-2:00 PM at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM Thursday in the chapel. Interment will follow at Mt Zion Cemetery, 2441 Corner Rd, Warrior, AL
