Celia Matro Caampued, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 22, 2025 in Torrance, CA.

Celia was born on July 5, 1937 in Cotabato City, Mindanao, Philippines. With Pio (Paul) she lived and raised her family in San Jose for over 47 years. She was active in St. Victor’s Catholic Church community, the Diocese of San Jose Cursillo, and the Focolare Movement. For the past 6 years she lived in Torrance, CA.

Known for her strong faith, love for others and staying connected with family and friends at large, she always met life’s challenges by loving and living in the present moment.

Celia is survived by her daughter, Maria Caampued Gregoris and spouse Peter Gregoris, son Alvin Caampued and spouse Jez Caampued, daughter in law Charlene Caampued; grandchildren Anthony, Vanessa, Alyssa, Cristina, Marissa, Gianna, Kenneth, Renessa, and Francesca; great grandchildren Dion, Dominic, Demi, Anaya, Adrian, Mylia; and her sisters Violeta Antelman, Yolanda Matro, Teresita Stonefield. She was predeceased by spouse Pio and sons Nestor and Arnie; and her brother Fernando Matro.

Celia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be forever in our hearts.
