Cecil Earl Stansell, a cherished resident of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on November 20, 1935, in the same town he called home throughout his life, Cecil was a beloved member of the community whose presence will be deeply missed.
Cecil dedicated many years of his life to hard work and service. He retired from Associated Springs, where he worked as a machine operator, demonstrating diligence and commitment. Even after retirement, Cecil continued to contribute to his community by working for Apple Country Transit for ten years, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and reliability.
Beyond his professional life, Cecil had a passion for music and community gatherings. He was a familiar face at street dances in Hendersonville, where his love for music and dance brought joy to many. A talented musician, Cecil sang in the church choir and played both guitar and bass. His musical talents were further shared through his performances with the Margaret Buster Band in Tennessee.
Cecil was a devoted member of the Balfour and Calvary churches, where his faith and fellowship were central to his life. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, embodying the values of duty and honor.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa King, and his parents, JB and Nancy Stansell. Cecil is survived by his son, William Stansell, and daughter-in-law, Sherri, of Horse Shoe, NC; his granddaughter, Jessie Ann Stansell, also of Horse Shoe, NC; great grand daughter; Katelyn Rose Felder and his brother, David Stansell, of Hendersonville, NC. His family and friends will remember him for his kind spirit, unwavering support, and the joy he brought into their lives.
A graveside service to honor Cecil’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, at 11:00 am at Shepherd Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts.
Cecil Earl Stansell will be remembered for his dedication to family, community, and faith. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him.
