Carson High’s NJROTC Senator Battalion raises $1,800 for cancer awareness with Pink Aiguillettes

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Carson High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NJROTC) Senator Battalion proudly concluded its Fourth Annual Pink Aiguillette Fundraiser in support of cancer awareness and research.

This year, 169 cadets participated by wearing pink aiguillettes throughout the month of October, raising an impressive $1,800 for the Carson Tahoe Cancer Research Center.

The Pink Aiguillette campaign has become a meaningful tradition within the Senator Battalion, symbolizing unity, compassion and service beyond the classroom. Each cadet who participated made a personal donation to wear a pink aiguillette on their uniform, showing visible support for those affected by cancer and reinforcing the NJROTC values of honor, courage and commitment.

“This event gives our cadets the opportunity to make a real difference in our community,” said Senator Battalion Cadet Commander Maria Benshoof. “It’s inspiring to see our Battalion embrace a cause that affects so many families and stand together to show their support.”

Over the past four years, the Senator Battalion’s Pink Aiguillette fundraiser has continued to grow in participation and impact, reflecting the cadets’ strong sense of community service and leadership. Funds raised will directly support cancer research and patient care through the Carson Tahoe Cancer Research Center.

The Carson High NJROTC program extends its gratitude to the Carson City community, staff and families who helped make this year’s fundraiser a success.
