Carson City schools near summer break finish line with releases, promotions and graduations

Carson City School District is nearing the finish line with events to highlight the end of the school year for summer break. Here are the release times and graduation, promotion events.

Wednesday, June 4, is a Minimum / Early Release Day in the Carson City School District for only secondary schools (high schools and middle schools). If you normally pick up your child after school, please be there promptly at the dismissal times below. 

  • High Schools – 11:40 a.m.
  • Middle Schools – 12:00 noon

Wednesday, June 4, Eagle Valley Middle School hosted their Eighth-Grade Commitment to Graduate Celebration from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Thursday, June 5, is the Last Day of School and will be a Minimum / Early Release Day for ALL schools. If you normally pick up your child after school, please be there promptly at the dismissal times below. 

  • High Schools – 11:40 a.m.
  • Middle Schools – 12:00 noon
  • Elementary Schools – 12:40 p.m.

Thursday, June 5, Carson Middle School will host their Eighth-Grade Promotion from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Promoting students should arrive at 12:30, ready for promotion. Doors open to guests at 12:30 (guests enter through the front of the school). Minors attending the ceremony must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday, June 6, Pioneer Academy will host their Graduation Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center. The doors at the Community Center will open at 5:15 p.m. for all students, parents, and guests. Admission is free of charge, and students may invite as many family members or friends as they wish to the ceremony.

Saturday, June 7, Carson High School will host their Graduation Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on the Carson High Football Field. At approximately 7:30 a.m., Carson High School will open to parents and invited guests.

Handicap seating is available for our guests with wheelchairs and ONE OTHER GUEST ONLY. Due to the limited space, we are unable to seat entire families in the wheelchair seating section.

Gates will be open at the North and South end of the school. There will be no reserved seating at the graduation ceremony. Seating is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. No spiked heels are allowed on the track or field. Please do not bring shade structures.

Admission is free of charge, and you may invite as many family members or friends as you wish to the ceremony. Parents and guests at graduation are requested to refrain from bringing or using noisemakers, air horns or other loud and disruptive devices during the ceremony.

These items can cause problems for others trying to hear the names of the graduates being announced during the ceremony, and they may also cause physical or emotional problems for the elderly, young children and those who find loud noises frightening or alarming.
