Carol McGuire

 Carol McGuire, 87, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home after battling her illness with Alzheimer’s.

Born on May 16, 1938 in Fort Edward, New York. She was the daughter of Arthur and Charlotte (Linendoll) Stanton.

Carol was a proud graduate of South Glens Falls High School. She then went on to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University at Albany. Carol dedicated many years to teaching at Cobleskill College.

Carol had a love for reading, playing golf and music. She enjoyed sharing her musical talents as an organist at the Lutheran Church in Cobleskill.

She is predeceased by her sister, Sandra Crisler; her nephew, Craig Balfour; her brother in law, Clayton Washburn, and her partner, Paulette Danforth.

Carol is survived by her sisters Judith Washburn and Charlene Balfour; her brother, Arthur Stanton; her brother in law Nelson Crisler; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the ASPCA or any local dog shelter.

Funeral Services will be held privately for the family.
