Blaine Harris
- May 30, 2025

Blaine Ernest Harris was born at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah to Lee LeGrande Smith Harris and Leah Moore Harris on April 19, 1941. He also passed away there on May 29, 2025, after a short hospitalization.
Blaine lived in Provo all his life and attended Franklin, Timpanogos, and Maeser Elementary schools. As a child, he helped in the neighborhood store his parents owned. He enjoyed riding his bike, but he liked riding his sister’s bike better! Blaine was always generous and enjoyed bringing candy from the store to his friends at school.
He became active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when his family moved in with his grandmother, Birdie Moore, and he attended the Bonneville Ward. There he became acquainted with a group of friends he later called the “Old Gang,” most of whom remained friends throughout his life, and they have met together often since the 1960’s.
He attended Farrer Junior High School and later became a Provo High Bulldog where he lettered in sports. It’s safe to say he was probably the class clown.
His first job was driving the Dairy Queen ice cream truck through the neighborhoods of Provo. For 17 years, he worked at the Hi-Spot Drive Inn as a Manager and Regional Manager. He finished his working life as Office Manager and Inside Sales Rep for Central Utah Block Company, later renamed Amcor, where he made many friends and came to know every contractor in the Valley.
Blaine was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and The Jaycee Service Club. He was proud to live in Provo and did his best to be a contributing member of the community. He loved the Freedom Festival in Provo and supported all the events. Every year he would go down early and save a place, so the whole family could watch the parade together.
Blaine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout his life, but serving in the Temple was his favorite assignment. He served in the Provo Temple and later Provo City Center Temple for 18 1/2 years as an ordinance worker, and he loved every minute of it!
Blaine loved spending time with friends and family. He was very generous and loved giving little gifts to people. He loved good food, but he loved people more. He never had an unkind thing to say about anyone. He had an awesome sense of humor and was forever joking around. He was loved by all who met him, even if it was just a brief meeting. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Geneil; daughters, Michelle Belliston (Carl), Jeanne Harris, Susi Harris (Wes) and Angela Harris; sister-in-law Jill Harris, sister Linda Dansie, brother Randy Harris (Karen), 6 grandchildren, Heidi Cragun, Ryan Cragun, Derek Cragun, Alyssa Morgan, Brenna Norwood, and Alex Harris; 4 step-grandchildren, Chris Belliston, John Belliston, James Belliston, and Ben Belliston and 4 great-grandchildren, Ashton Morris, Belle Morris, Osian Cragun, and Billie Rose Cragun; 2 step great-grandchildren, Finnley Belliston and Truman Belliston. Preceded in death by his parents and his brother Alan.
An Evening Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Bonneville 4th Ward chapel located at 1289 East 300 South, Provo, Utah. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 9th at 12:00 pm at the Bonneville 4th Ward chapel, where a Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Interment will take place in the Provo City Cemetery.
