Betty Thomas

Joyce Thomas, a devoted member of her community, passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 91.

Born on July 5, 1933, Joyce resided in Pleasant Grove and spent her life sharing her talents and love with those around her. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Graysville and a current member of Westmont Baptist Church.

Joyce’s passions included arranging flowers, scrapbooking, shopping, and going out to eat.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Tidwell; daughter, Jamie Shivers (Tim); grandchildren, Adam Shivers and Alan Shivers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Thomas; son, Philip Thomas; parents, Bynum and Ila Alexander; and sister, Geraldine Key, Joyce’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched.

Rest in peace, Joyce. Your love, kindness, and memory will be cherished by those who loved you.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest donations be made to Westmont Baptist Church Vacation Bible School.  

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with service following immediately after with Landon Byrd, officiating.
