Betty Kerr 1944-2025
In the great loss of a wife of 58 years, a mother, a grandmother and great grandmother, we are rejoicing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She made this transition peacefully July 30th, 2025
Betty, who was born in Prince Albert Saskatchewan, is survived by her husband, Rev. Wayne Kerr of St. Thomas, son Dr. Paul (Haidi) Kerr of St. Thomas and daughter Jennifer (Dr. Jayson) Roland of Cincinnati Ohio. She loved her five grandchildren, Ian (Marcela) Kerr of Sarnia, Arden (Antonia) Kerr of St. Thomas, Alenna (John) Scime of Hawaii and twins Payton & Taylor of Cincinnati Ohio. She delighted in her great grandchildren, Riley & Myles Kerr of Sarnia, Ariella & Aniya of St.Thomas and Malorie Scime of Hawaii.
Betty is also survived by her sister Barb (Tedd) Smith of Oakville and brother James (Barb) Stewart of Regina, Sask.
Betty was known as a wonderful pastor’s wife for over 50 years, gracious, hospitable, loving, kind, generous. She encouraged women to be followers of Jesus, both in North America as well as on missions’ ministries five times to Cuba and twice to Cambodia.
Betty loved to hike as well as travel. She reveled in participating in Ladies Bible Studies as well as co-leading LifeGroups. Following their retirement, she was one of the co-founders of a ministry to retired Pastors and International Workers for the Alliance Church denomination in Canada.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at Faith Church, St Thomas 345 Fairview Ave. Saturday August 9, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation/connection time and refreshments will take place after the service.
