Betty Grayson

Betty Jane Grayson, 85, of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at The Springs of Mt. Vista, surrounded by the angels.

She was born March 28, 1940, at Louisville, Texas, to Martin Ray and Wida Ernestine Dossett Hilliard. Betty spent several years working as a clerk for Central Freight Line, where her attention to detail and friendly personality made her well loved by co-workers and customers alike. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and found great comfort and strength in her faith.

Betty was a talented and creative lady who loved crocheting and knitting, and she could often be found tending to her flowers and plants — her “green thumb” was truly unmatched. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family and treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her laughter, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and a brother, Jessie Ray Hilliard.

Survivors include a son, Clark Marden of Harrison; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Alan Landrum of Harrison; four grandchildren, Amber (Tim) Gass of Harrison, Charles Landrum of Harrison, Matthew Marden of Huntsville, Texas, and Ashley (Justin) Reynolds of Jasper; four great-grandchildren, Timothy and Katy Gass of Harrison, and Caden and Isaac Reynolds of Jasper; and many other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at White Church Cemetery at Harrison, with Bro. Justin Reynolds officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of The Springs of Mt. Vista.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th, at Holt Memorial Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205.
