Barbara Simon

Barbara Ann Simon 88 years old was born to Norman and Minnie Mitchum in Bessmemer, Alabama on February 13th, 1937, Passed away August 7th 2025 in Baytown Tx.

She moved to Anahuac, Tx at the age of nineteen. She married Guy W, Simon April 1956. From this union they became parents of five children, Guy Jr., Marie, Tobas, Lester, and Kay.

Barbara worked most of her life in the health care industry as a nurse in the hospitals in Baytown Tx and Denver Colorado. She also worked in home health care for elderly patients in their homes for many years. It was during this time that she met her dear friend Linda Henderson.

Barbara was preceded by husband Guy Sr., her parents Norman and Minnie Mitchum, an infant brother Billy, brother Philip Mitchum, sister Marilyn Bilyeu, sons Guy Jr., Tobas (TC), Lester Simon, daughter Kay Morris, granddaughter Tabatha Chaplain, a very special aunt Mary Goodsell.

Viewing will be at 10am with funeral at 11am on Saturday August 16th, at Community Christian Fellowship in Church Oak Island TX officiated by Pastor Mark Pagels.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Marie and husband Kent Middleton Alvin TX, daughter-n-law Dawn Simon Baytown, Tx, and daughter-n-law Donna Simon Wallisville Tx. She had nine grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren, brother David Mitchum of Gilbertsville, Ky, also numerous nephews, friends, especially her best friend Linda Henderson, and church family at Community Christian Fellowship Church of Oak Island Tx.

Interment will be at Anahuac cemetery.
