Barbara (Kovach) Bracnaro, age 57, of Shelton, beloved wife of Robert Bracnaro, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025. Mrs. Bracnaro was born in Bridgeport, November 13, 1967, daughter of Rose (Fabrizzo) Kovach and the late Michael Kovach and was a lifetime area resident.
She was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and was a retired Visiting Nurse for various agencies. Barbara was an outstanding nurse, who truly cared about her patients’ health, happiness, and well-being—she was exceptionally intelligent and truly loved her work. She enjoyed cooking (was getting great at making pizza), watching cooking shows, watching classic older movies and horror movies, traveling, and boardwalks. She especially loved riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle and had a great love for dogs—especially German Shepards (she had several German Shepards over the years and took outstanding care of them as if they were her children).
Barbara truly was a wonderful, loving, caring, kind, fun, and beautiful wife for her husband; and always helped and supported Robert, helping him to get through some of the most difficult times in his life. Barbara’s beautiful face and captivating smile shined like the sun, providing warmth, beauty, and love all around her. She was a very elegant, beautiful, and lovely woman; and although she was very petite, she was amazingly physically strong in the past, and more than capable of standing up for herself and others she cared about. Her husband Robert could not have loved and adored his beautiful, loving, caring, angelic wife more, and will love her and miss her forever. Robert stated that he will only be truly happy again when he joins her for eternity upon the clouds in Heaven.
Survivors, in addition to her husband and mother, include her brother, Richard Kovach Sr., and his wife Julia; two nephews, Richard Kovach Jr. and Christopher Kovach.
Friends may visit with her family Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615.
A Funeral Service celebrated by Deacon John Piatak will be held the next morning, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. by meeting directly in Union Cemetery, Temple Court, Stratford, CT 06615.
