In Loving Memory of Arlene “Archie” Wascher

Arlene “Archie” Wascher, age 89, of Owosso, peacefully passed away on June 4, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.

The funeral service to celebrate Arlene’s life will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2 PM at Nelson-House Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Wentz officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Riverside West Cemetery in Henderson. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM and Saturday from 1 PM until the service begins.

Born on October 21, 1935, in New Haven Township, Arlene was the cherished daughter of Arthur and Lena (Cowell) Luft. A proud graduate of Owosso High School, she was part of the class of 1954.

Arlene was an incredibly devoted wife, mother, and friend, who found joy in her family and community. She was an enthusiastic member of 4-H and actively participated in the Shiawassee County Historical Society. On July 17, 1954, she married her best friend, Charles Wascher, in New Haven Township, embarking on a beautiful journey of love and companionship.

Arlene’s loving memory will be honored by her husband, Charles Wascher; her children, Susan (Prem) Kumar, William (Diane) Wascher, Cheryl Wascher, and Linda Hilliker; ten adoring grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other cherished family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, LaVerne, Henry, Kenneth, and Beatrice; who shaped her incredible spirit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shiawassee County Historical Society or a charity of your choice, honoring Arlene’s passion for her community.
