Annis Dingess

Annis Victoria Dingess, age 92, of Cairo, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2025, passing peacefully at her residence.

Victoria was a devoted Christian and faithful member of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Romie Dingess; her parents, Laben and Inez Conley; her sister, Virginia Keller; and three of her children, Leslie Dingess, Dennie Dingess, and Bonnie Lavender.

She is survived by seven children: Mike Dingess, Cathy Cooley, Rita Caldwell, Carrie Dye, Kenneth Dingess, Greg Dingess, and Beverly Carter. Victoria’s legacy also lives on through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren—too numerous to count.

Born on February 4, 1933, on Rocky Branch in Logan County, West Virginia, Victoria was a lifelong member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church and also attended Bible Baptist Church in Fisher, West Virginia, where she was cherished by all who knew her.

Victoria was a loving mother, homemaker, and businesswoman. Alongside her husband, she owned and operated V&M Dingess Construction and Dingess Hardware during the 1970s and 1980s. After retiring, she and Romie moved to Ritchie County, where they raised cattle, pigs, and grandchildren.

She was blessed with many talents and passions. She could sew and make clothes, quilt, and raise gardens large enough to feed an army. She loved canning, camping, and especially shopping—whether at flea markets, auctions, stores, or malls, Victoria delighted in the simple joy of going out and finding treasures.

Above all, Victoria will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and the warmth she brought to everyone around her.

Graveside services will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025 at Dingess Family Cemetery, Big Run, Cairo, WV. Raiguel Funeral Home is assisting the family. v
