Clinton-Ann K. Donohue, 88, passed peacefully in the company of family on Friday, May 30, 2025.

She is survived by generations of nieces and nephews in the Donohue, Shaughnessy, and Hamilton families, her sister-in-law Ellen Donohue of Holyoke, numerous cousins, and many dear friends since childhood.

Daughter of the late Robert J. Donohue and Mary A. (Burke) Donohue, Ann was born and raised on California Court in Clinton overlooking her beloved Nashua River and the Dam at the Wachusett Reservoir beyond. As the youngest of six children, she enjoyed an active Clinton childhood filled with close family, loyal friends, and helpful neighbors. She is pre-deceased by her siblings, Mary Shaughnessy, Helen Poff, Patricia Hamilton, Dr. Robert J. Donohue, Jr., and Hon. James P. Donohue.

Ann was a proud graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1953; the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a member of the Class of 1957 and completed her Graduate studies at the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. From there she began a lifelong career as an educator of foreign languages, beginning in Washington, D.C. and then in Hartford, CT until retirement.

Throughout her life, Ann’s remained a skilled and adventurous skier on mountains throughout the world. She was a voracious reader of Irish literature and history. In retirement years, Ann returned home to California Court, where she enjoyed time spent in the company of family and friends.

She was a woman of great faith and devout member of Our Lady of the Rosary and St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parishes.

Ann’s family wish to thank her loyal health aides, Gilentia, Jacqueline and Lisa from Right at Home, as well as the Clinton Fire Department for the tremendous support and care provided to Ann.

Calling hours will be held from 5 until 7PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, June 6, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.
