Andrew Keith Swanson (age 53) entered into rest surrounded by his family on April 28th, 2025 in Bellingham. Andrew was born on April 6th, 1972 in Canoga Park, CA to Dean and Maja Susan (Rankel) Swanson. He attended and graduated from El Camino High School in Woodland Hills, CA. in 1990. Andrew continued his education at BTC, studying Mechanical Engineering and also attended Charter College, studying accounting. During his working career, he was a document specialist focusing in the nuclear industry. During his personal time, Andrew enjoyed dabbling in acting. He was a member of the Bent Pennies Improv Group. He was especially fond of animals, volunteering his time for animal therapy. Andrew was a very avid horseback rider, loved swimming, scuba, boating with his family and loved his German Shepherds.

Andrew had a very big heart and was outgoing, and will most be remembered for helping everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed a good discussion, challenging people’s ideas and really enjoyed the banter/debate of the conversation. His grandfather taught him higher mathematics which Andrew took a liking to. He was very intelligent, loved playing chess for its strategy. Other games of skill and strategy he enjoyed are backgammon and pool. Usually dominating the wins. Most of all, Andrew will be remembered for his huge heart, and his love of his family, friends and dogs.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Rita Dixson of Everson, WA; daughter, Cindy Dixson of Sedro Woolley, WA; brothers, Craig and Travis Swanson of Bellingham, WA, Kenny Perry of CA, Paul Perry of Seattle, WA.; grandmothers, Ethel Swanson and Beverly Rankel. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen Rankel, Maja Russell, Phil Swanson.
