Andrew Maples

Andrew Thomas Maples was born on December 3, 1986, in San Antonio, TX, and went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2025, in Phoenix, AZ.

Andrew is survived by his beloved daughter Melody, who was the light of his life and the center of his world. From the moment she was born, Andrew found his greatest joy and purpose in being her father. His love for her was profound, constant, and transformative—she truly was his heart.

He is also survived by his mother Therese Rothberg (Galen), father Scott Maples (Jennifer), twin brother Spencer Maples (Jonathan), brother Alexander Maples, sisters Sonia Cendejas (Vicente) and Jessica Vander Berg (Kraig), six nieces and nephews, and many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.

Andrew was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor. He had a lifelong passion for sports, music, and spirited conversations. He played basketball at Westview High School and graduated in 2005 from the International Commerce Institute. Andrew later taught himself how to play the piano, often using music as an outlet for expression and reflection.

Though he could debate anyone on nearly any topic, Andrew’s most defining trait was his heart—generous, loyal, and fiercely loving. He was a friend who showed up, a brother who made you laugh, and a father whose love knew no bounds. In his late twenties, Andrew rediscovered his faith, a quiet but powerful source of strength and peace in his life.

To those who knew him, Andrew was a constant reminder to pause, breathe, and be present. He had a way of grounding others with his words, humor, and ability to see beauty in the ordinary moments. He lived his life with intensity, love, and a profound appreciation for the now.

Andrew is deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
