Ana Panellas
Ana Maria Panellas, age 93 of Yorkville, IL passed away at her home on Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 25, 1931 in Santiago, Cuba, the daughter of Juan F. and Josefa (Parera) Panellas.
Ana Maria was united in marriage to Mr. Luis Pina Bermudez and they spent many years happily together until his passing in 1994. Mrs. Panellas earned her Bachelor of Education and Psychology. She taught several countries including Spain, Venezuela, and the United States. She was an extremely talented artist who proudly displayed much of her work in her home. Mrs. Panellas was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL. Ana Maria was a loving wife, mother and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Ana Maria is survived by her son, Luis Pina of Yorkville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Josefa Pannellas; her husband, Luis Pina Bermudez; also her siblings, Juan F. Panellas and Mercedes Sais.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, October 289, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1001 North Center Avenue, Plano, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
