It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear Alicia, who left this world peacefully 16 years after a car accident that left her in a minimally conscious state. She was a bright light in all our lives, and her presence – with all she has taught us, how deeply she inspired us, and the memories that still make us smile – remains with us.

Alicia grew up in Bonita, California, where she made lifelong friends at Allen Elementary School, Bonita Vista Middle School, and Bonita Vista High School. She later attended Southwestern College, where she proudly wrote for the college newspaper, then went onto UCLA in pursuit of studies that would help her make the world a better place. Her love of adventure took her on travels through Mexico, Germany, France, the UK, and Japan. Always humble, but so impressive and accomplished, Alicia graduated early and went on to work for an international nonprofit, fulfilling her dream and commitment to equity and service.

Alicia was known for her kindness, beauty, intelligence, and infectious laughter. She loved the little things that made life sweet: whipped cream and Caramel Macchiatos, trying the best foods from around the world, long drives with windows open and music blasting, and quiet moments on the beach, where she felt most at peace. Her gentleness, humor, and passion for life touched everyone she met.

Alicia is survived by her loyal sister, Ashley. Ashley stood by Alicia’s side through her long journey, along with her devoted mother and grandfather.

We will miss Alicia deeply but carry her memory with us always.
