CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Alfred Charles Olivier, age 69, who passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025 at his residence in Saint Rose.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Alfred Charles Olivier was a native of Lafayette and a resident of St. Rose. He enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles. Alfred was employed with Lockheed Martin (NASA) and Northrop Grumman, where he performed inspections with great skill and dedication. He had a deep love for his dog, Tank, who was his buddy and faithfully by his side when he passed.
Mr. Olivier was a man whose heart and laughter filled every room he entered. He loved his family and friends deeply, taking his nephew, Stevie, under his wing as his own son after his brother’s passing. Their bond was one of true love and devotion, with Stevie lovingly helping to care for him during his final years and moments.
A proud Saints fan, he could always be found cheering on his team, boiling crawfish, or BBQing surrounded by those he loved most. Boiling crawfish became a weekend tradition, a family delicacy he perfected over the years, always making sure everyone left full and smiling.
Known for his humor and lighthearted spirit, he never took a serious picture and was always cracking jokes. Beneath his playful, goofball nature was a man with a deeply compassionate heart; loving, devoted, and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering love for family and friends. His legacy lives on in the joy he brought to others and the memories shared around every table, every Saints game, and every pot of crawfish.
Alfred will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of the outdoors, and his loyalty.
Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Catherine “Cathy” Robert Olivier; daughter, Hope Menard (Shane) and their children, Briley Noel (Cody) and their daughter, Brooklyn Noel and one on the way, Haley Menard, and Cole Menard; daughter, Nicole Smith and her children, Keyante Smith, Ava Travis and Kai Travis; his nephew whom he loved as his own son, Stevie Olivier; and one brother, Kearny Olivier, Jr. (Neva).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kearny Olivier, Sr. and Dorothy Romero Olivier; three brothers, Charles Olivier, Rex Olivier, and William Olivier; and five sisters, Gayle Denais, Lonnie Bourg, Charlene “Skip” Olivier, Dorothy Brickley Cardana, and Jessica Marsigla.
