Adele Adeline Shrum, 80, a lifelong resident of Greer and Harmon Counties, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, in Mangum.
Adele was born on March 31, 1945, in Vinson, Oklahoma, to Edward and Oneta (Mitchell) Hill. She grew up in the tight-knit Vinson community and graduated from Vinson High School, where she built friendships that lasted throughout her life.
After high school, Adele dedicated herself to caring for her family and community. She was a devoted homemaker and later served as a compassionate home health provider, caring for others with patience and kindness. Her gentle nature and willingness to help those in need touched many lives.
A woman of deep faith, Adele was a faithful member of Vinson Baptist Church, where she participated actively for many years. She enjoyed sharing her talents and lending a helping hand to her church family whenever she could.
In her younger years, Adele expressed herself as a prolific artist. Her creativity and eye for beauty could be seen in her artwork, which she shared generously with family and friends. Beyond her art, Adele’s greatest joy came from her family. She loved following the activities of her son, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and she never missed an opportunity to cheer them on in all of their accomplishments. Her family knew her as their biggest supporter and a steady source of love and encouragement.
Adele will be remembered for her quiet strength, her devotion to family and faith, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Shrum; Parents; and Brother, Danny Hill
Left to honor her loving memory is her son, Ron Smith and wife Leslie of Willow, Oklahoma; Nephews, Daniel and wife Kortney Hill of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Dustin Bryan of Mangum, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Emily and husband Sam Watson of Altus, Oklahoma, and Kalyn Smith and Cosul Dresser of Jacksonville, Florida; Great Granddaughter, Parker Watson; Great Nieces and Nephews, Josh, Ashley, Megan, Eric, Gavyn, Ashton, and Addy; As well as a host of Great Nieces and Nephews
