1946-2024
St. Joseph, Missouri…..Kerry Sue Pilgram Erickson, age 78, was born September 9, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri the daughter of MK (Tommy) and Betty June (Bush) Pilgram and passed away December 3, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer, her daughters at her side.
Kerry graduated from Benton High School Class of 1964 and kept in close contact with her classmates and friends. Kerry married Richard Clampitt in 1965 and to this union two daughters were born. She was an animal lover, she rescued and cared for many dogs and cats over the years. Kerry was Postmaster at Amity, Missouri Post Office and retired with over 20 years of service. She had “Green Thumb” and could grow the most beautiful flowers and was even featured in St Joseph NewsPress with her flower garden on 11th Street. In 1986 she married LaVerne Berry until his passing in 2014 and later her High School sweetheart Robert Michael (Mike) Erickson in 2016. She enjoyed living on the farm in Amity and was a member of Amity United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Richard Clampitt, LaVerne Berry (2014), and Mike Erickson (2020); and brother, Larry Lynn Pilgram.
Survivors include her children, Kelly Jeanne Garland, King City, MO and Rebecca Anne Johnson (Chris), Country Club, MO, Step-Daughter Jennifer (Ron) Jensen; and three grandsons, Tyler Garland, Shane Garland, and Noah Johnson. Beloved cat, Annie and many, many dear friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Turner Family Funeral Home of Maysville. Private Family Funeral services are scheduled. Memorial contributions: M’Shoogy’s Emergency Animal Rescue
