Albert Ray Harrison
- April 3, 2023
Albert Ray Harrison was born on February 7, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Ruth Mae Royster and Albert Harrison. He was the brother of Leonard Harrison, Brenda Taylor, and Regina Royster-McDowell. He returned to his heavenly home on March 29, 2023, at the age of 65. He is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Albert, sister Brenda Taylor.
Ray accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Gillion Baptist Church under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor Freddie L. Brown. Ray was educated in Cleveland Public School system, where he attended John F. Kennedy High School. He had a strong passion for education and instilled these beliefs in his children. He was united in Holy Matrimony to his beautiful bride, Teresa Stringer, on August 6, 1994, and together they enjoyed the love of three beautiful children.
He was a long-time employee of Orange City Schools, where he enjoyed being able to uplift different kids each day, giving them high fives as they walked through the halls. No matter where he was, he would always feel the need to put a smile on someone’s face by telling a joke or just giving a nice compliment. He will always be remembered for his humorist personality and efforts to uplift those around him while enhancing the community. While he loved joking around and laughing, he never played around when it came to his family. Ray cared deeply for his family and friends. In every conversation, he made sure to give a lesson. He never hesitated to sacrifice his own needs for the needs of the ones he loved.
During his free time, Ray enjoyed playing with his one-year-old puppy, Coco, and going dancing with his wife, Teresa. You could always depend on him to be the center of attention on any dance floor, as he loved to dance and have a good time whenever the opportunity presented itself. Ray enjoyed a wide range of music, but one of his favorite things to listen to daily was Nephew Tommy’s prank phone calls from the Steve Harvey Morning Radio Show. He could sit for hours and laugh at the same prank phone calls every day.
Ray leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 29 years, Teresa Harrison; 3 children, La’Tira Harrison, D’Andray Harrison, and Charese Harrison; 2 siblings, Leonard Harrison, and Regina Royster-McDowell (Ronald); 4 grandchildren, Tyrail Davis, Terry Donald, Christopher Knibbs and Yonnie Harrison; great-grandchild, Jasiah Kelly; aunt, Ida-Bell Lanier; uncle, Robert Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
