Betty Hanenkrat Klingler

Betty Lou (Kaiser) Hanenkrat Klingler, age 81, of Dover, passed away, Monday, December 5, 2022, in Hennis Care Center at Dover following a period of declining health.

Born in Dover, Ohio, Betty was the daughter of the late Earl and Florence (Van Fossen) Kaiser.

Betty was an avid reader and passed her love for books on to the many preschool kids that she taught at Happy Day Preschool.  Later in life she also became an accountant and worked for Waldenmeyer Builders and Raeder Construction as an accountant.  But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.  She was also an active member of LifeBridge Community Church in Dover.

She is survived by her children, Skip (Samantha) Hanenkrat of Dover and Tami Shotwell of Coshocton; grandchildren, Chloe (Derek Morgan) Hanenkrat, Sophie Hanenkrat and Rylie Hanenkrat; siblings, Dale Kaiser, Elaine Hartmann; Valerie Banker and Crystal (John) Bender; sisters-in-law, Donna Smith and Betty Kaiser.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Warren (Sonny) Hanenkrat; second husband, Jack Klingler; son-in-law, Lonnie Shotwell; and brother, Donnie Kaiser; brothers-in-law, Glenn Smith, Scooter Hartmann and John Banker; sister-in-law, Delania Kaiser; and many furry friends.

The family will greet guests on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 where Pastor Chris Miletti will lead a service celebrating Betty’s life beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
