Kenneth “Ken” Robertson, 88, of Cottage Grove Place, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 8, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Judy, his daughters, Deb (Bob) Mreen of Inman, South Carolina, Wendi Robertson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Kandi Turner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, his grandchildren, Michelle (John) Korpics of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Jeff (Kara) Branch of Mesa, Arizona, Piper Ideker of Aurora, Illinois, Nile Turner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Bobby (Miranda) Mreen of MacClenny, Florida, Eric (Frankie) Mreen of Jacksonville, Florida, his great-grandchildren, Jarek Branch of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Brody Korpics of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Preston Branch of Mesa, Arizona, Zander Mreen of MacClenny, Florida, and Colton Mreen of MacClenny, Florida, his siblings, Jan Mitchell of Bradenton, Florida, Kay (Myrle) Bailey of Centerville, Ohio and Dale Robertson of Hebbronville, Texas, a brother-in-law, Rick (Cindy) Cohn of Robins, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Bessie Robertson, sister, Beth Ann, brother, Jim, brother-in-law, Dick Mitchell, sister-in-law, Helen Robertson and a grandchild, Nicole Branch.
Ken was born January 2, 1937, in Keswick, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Bessie (Fisher) Robertson. He attended grade school at Barns City and graduated from Deep River High School in 1955. He enlisted in the Army and served from 1956-1959 as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne in North Carolina. Ken worked at Amana Refrigeration Plant and Amana Construction from 1959-1963. He then began work at Sieg Company of Cedar Rapids from 1963-1994 in accounts payable, then in outside sales and worked his way up to President. He later began work at Barron Motor Supply in 1995 and retired in 2005.
Ken special interests were antique cars (especially his 1950 Chevy) and was a member of the Anique Automobile Club of America, dancing, Iowa Hawkeyes, being with his beautiful grandchildren and enjoying Iowa winters in sunny Arizona. He also enjoyed the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight in May of 2018 accompanied by his daughter Wendi Robertson.
Ken’s positive outlook on life, funny jokes and infectious laugh will be greatly missed. A special thank-you to Cottage Grove Staff and Mercy Hospice for the care given to him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, your local chapter, in memory of Ken.
