Diana Deane Whitaker Clark, 80, a lifetime Morgan County resident, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. Diana’s life began on Thursday, August 16th, 1945, in Martinsville, Indiana, as the daughter of the late Herman George and Georgia Fern (Sparks) Lehr.
Diana was a proud graduate of Martinsville High School, Class of 1963. Shortly after graduation, she married Raymond Dale Whitaker on November 6th, 1964; he preceded her in death on January 6th, 1994. To their union, they were blessed with two sons, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
In time, Diana found love again and married Raymond E. Clark on March 28th, 1998; he preceded her in death on January 6th, 2022.
Diana was known for her vibrant social spirit, she cherished her friends, her church family, and the joy of spending time with them. She also enjoyed bowling, canning, watering her flowers, bird watching, traveling, camping, and sharing time with her family and her beloved dog, Bella.
Diana was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She retired from Navistar in 2009 after many years of loyal service. Throughout her career, she also worked for Harmon Motive and Twigg Corporation in Martinsville, as well as RCA, General Electric, and Central Coil.
She leaves behind a host of loving family, including her two sons, Tim Whitaker (wife, Aimee) and Dale Whitaker (wife, Nicole), all of Martinsville; step-sons, Raymond Lee Clark (wife, Rhonda) of Bluff City, Alabama, Michael Clark (wife, Christi) of North Carolina, and Timothy Clark (wife, Nicki) of Indianapolis, Indiana; step-daughters, Barbara Sullivan (husband, Cliff) of Alabaster, Alabama, Annette Wells (husband, Jim) of New Mexico, Trish Smith (husband, Tom) of Paragon, Indiana, and Krista Dennis (husband, Eric) of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters, Phyllis Bailey (husband, Joe) of Mooresville, Indiana, Judy Bonds (husband, Ronnie) and Jackie Stephy (husband, Jesse) of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her late husbands; twin brother, David Lee Lehr; brother, Terry Joe Lehr; and sisters, Alice Hornaday and Carolyn Sutton.
Diana was a devoted member of Harvest House Church in Mooresville, a proud member of Phi Beta, and a former Boy Scout leader.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, November 3rd, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday, November 4th, one hour prior to the service at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. Rev. Jimmy Parson, Jr. will officiate a service celebrating Diana’s life beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Raymond Dale Whitaker, at Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery.
