Mozzy Chenier

OPELOUSAS ~ Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas for Mozzy Ikeem Chenier, who passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025 at only 2 months old.

Mozzy Ikeem Chenier born August 18, 2025 is deeply loved and will be forever cherished by his parents and family. At only 3lbs 12oz, he brought so much joy to those who loved him. Though his time with us was brief, Mozzy’s life was full of love, and his memory will forever shine bright.

Survivors include his parents, Cedrick and Jennifer Chenier; his maternal grandfather, Theodore LaFontaine of Mississippi; his paternal grandparents, Gloria Rubin and Sampson Chenier; his step grandfather, Ralph Leday; his uncles, Bryan Rubin (Paula) of Opelousas, Christopher Chenier (Chantelle) of Opelousas, Deray Chenier of Opelousas, and Sampson Chenier, Jr. of Mississippi; his aunt, Breanna Kennedy of Mississippi; his Godmothers, Janet Zachary and Kayla Morgan; his Godfathers, Elax King and Challis Simms; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joann Zachary.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until service time Saturday.
