Edwin Francis

LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul Catholic Church (326 S. Washington St., Lafayette, LA 70501) for Edwin Francis. After fighting several illnesses for some time, on Sunday, October 19, 2025, almighty God served his final summons on his child, Edwin, who hastily answered as his soul took its flight from this world of sin, sorrow, and pain, unto that place of eternal bliss.

Interment will be Calvary Cemetery. Rev. Hai Pham, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, will officiate at the service.

Edwin “Nottie” Francis was born December 6, 1949, to the late Peter and Mable Francis, Sr. He was born in Sunset, LA but a lifelong resident of Lafayette, LA.

Edwin leaves to mourn, but in God’s care, one sister, Caroline “Kat” Moore (Charles) of Lafayette, LA; one nephew, Robert “Boo (Marlene) of Spring, TX; two nieces, Charlene (Kenneth) Malveaux and Sandra “Faye” Bernard both of Lafayette, LA all of whom he raised with; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mable Francis, Sr.; five sisters, Anna Lee Francis, Anna Jane Prejean, Roseline Francis, Helena Savoie, and Julie Broussard; two brothers, Peter Francis, Jr. and John Calvin Francis; two nephews, James Savoie and Ron Savoie; two nieces, Alana Broussard and Angela Francis; and one great niece, Kira Francis.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. Saturday in the church.

The family requests visiting hours be observed at St. Paul Catholic Church (326 S. Washington St. Lafayette, LA) from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Brian Moore, Sr., Devin Francis, Brian Moore, Jr., Damian Broussard, Andre Moore, and Travis Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Moore, Kenneth Malveaux, Robert “Boo” Francis, Gilbert Francis, Jermaine Francis, John Chris Francis, and Kirk Francis.
