Jerome Sofinowski

Jerome Joseph Sofinowski, 83 of Lemont passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 9, 2024.

Jerome is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marilyn Sofinowski, and his sons Anthony (Vicki) and Edmond (Beatriz), grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Patricia Kupres (Victor, deceased) and Barbara Cassidy (Richard), and his brother Richard (Jeannette). He was also predeceased by his parents Joseph and Adeline Sofinowski.

Jerome was a union dock worker for 43 years. He was an avid bowler and participated in leagues most of his life. He loved doing yard work on the weekends with his wife, Marilyn. Jerome’s favorite travel destination for many years was Acapulco, where he enjoyed eating ice cream on the beach. He was a big fan of football and baseball, specifically the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Most of all, he loved his family very much, and was always there to support and protect them.

The visitation for Jerome will be held on January 16th at Gerharz Funeral Home, 501 State St, Lemont, IL 60439 between the hours of 3PM and 8PM.

The funeral service will be held on January 17th at Saint Alphonsus Church, 605 State St, Lemont, IL, 60439 at 10AM.
