John Whalen Borowick, 62, passed away on December 20,2021 from unexpected respiratory failure surrounded by friends and family. John was well liked by many and sought out friendships with everyone. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on August 4th of 2021. John’s favorite hobbies included singing karaoke renditions of Elton John and “being on patrol” around Manor Care, the assisted living center where he resided. John is remembered by friends and family as being a happy and joyful person, who was excited to share stories about his family. John is survived by his three sons, Joshua, Adam, and Jason, his daughter-in-law Sarah, his grandson Ethan, and future daughter-in-law Amy. The visitation will be held on January 2, 2022 from 3-7 pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL. The funeral service will occur on January 3, 2022 at 10:00 am at Smith- Corcoran Funeral Home. As many of his family and friends know, John struggled with Bipolar Disorder for much of his adult life.
