Kelly McPeters

Kelly Furze McPeters, age 64, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her home after courageously battling lung cancer for several years.

Kelly was born on July 9, 1961, in Genesee County, Michigan, to Margaret “Terry” Tufts Furze and the late Bernard “Doug” Furze. Though life brought her challenges, Kelly faced each one with strength and resilience, leaving behind a legacy of love and determination.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry McPeters, her sister Kristy Penland, and her brother, Brenden Furze.

Kelly found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid quilter and reader, always creating, learning, and sharing her passions with others. Above all, family was at the heart of everything she did. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, and those memories will forever remain a comfort to them.

Surviving are her son, Lucas McPeters and his fiancé, Jessica Lambert; her mother, Terry Furze; and her siblings, Doug Furze (Kathy), Brian Furze (Leann), and Kerry Furze. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion.
