Gussie Gill

Our Beloved Mrs. Gussie Mae Gill, widow of Ernest F. Gill, exchanged time for eternity on Thursday, July 24 2025, in Summerton, South Carolina. Born in Summerton, South Carolina on August 21, 1931; she was a daughter of the late Taft Edward and Ruth Johnson Bennett.

“Mother Gill”, as she was affectionately called by her church family, went to Scott’s Branch High School, afterward moved to Baltimore, Maryland.

Gussie was joined in marriage to Ernest F. Gill. She was blessed with three children, Willie Edward Monroe, Elana Gill-Epps and Alicia Gill-Bowman.

Gussie was employed with Cello Corporation as a Silk Screener until her retirement. Later on, she relocated to Summerton. Gussie was blessed with the magnetism of friendliness and love.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, a grandson and brothers.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are two daughters, Elana Gill-Epps and Alicia Gill-Bowman; grandsons; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; god-daughter and a host of other close relatives and friends.

Gussie’s death leaves a big void in all whom she touched and will truly be missed…
