Rodney will be deeply missed by his loving wife Heather Barrett; son Dallas Barrett (Melanie); daughter Shayanne Sheaves (Lorne); grandchildren Dalyce Sheaves, Dylan Sheaves, Sadie Barrett, and Teagan Barrett; Sister Claudette Levers (Jim); Brothers Bryan Barrett (Maureen) and Victor Barrett. Remembering his life and love always will also be his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rod was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Joyce Barrett; special nephews Brandt Levers and Ken Barnett; and Mother-In-law Fern Levers.
Rod will always be remembered for his compassionate and generous heart. He saw the beauty and potential of all people. While Rod was so well known in the Canadian Arm-Wrestling Association, his real strength is measured in his enduring love for his family. Rod lived his life with passion and true – grit – when he set his mind to something it was always achieved with whole-heartedness and determination.
A Celebration of Rod’s life will take place at the Breton Community Centre, 4715 50 Avenue, Breton, Alberta, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 7.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in Rod’s name to the Breton and Rural Firefighters or The Breton Community Centre.
The Family would like to extend a special thanks to the Breton Fire Department, Lorne Sheaves, Paramedics, and the Breton R.C.M.P for their quick response and amazing support.
