James William Johnman

April 10, 1935 – July 14, 2025

On Monday, July 14, 2025 James William Johnman left us here to be with his Heavenly Father, he left behind the storms of this life for a life with no pain and the freedom to walk through the gates of Heaven to see all who wait for him there.

Jim will be forever thought of and loved by his best friend and wife, Elizabeth; his beloved daughters, Sylvia (Ken) Turcotte and Lisa Johnman; grandchildren, Mark (Heather), Deborah McDonough (Sean), and Sarah McDonough, great-grandson, Theo and sister Jean (Llyod) Woloshyn.

Jim was predeceased by his daughter, Rose Marie Johnman, and his parents Mary and Peter Johnman.

Jim created “art” on many mediums with many mediums, from rocks, wood, or sticks, on canvas with paints, string or pencil. He was an artist; a cartoonist he loved to create items for others to enjoy.

Jim’s family was his everything, his reason to rise everyday. He was their provider-he earned his steam ticket as a Boiler maker and he worker hard for them. He pushed himself to be a best friend to his wife, because in in the end “we are all we have”. He raised his daughters out of his deep character of good morals and ethics, he supported their endeavors and just enjoyed to be with them whether it was on family picnics or teaching them self-defence.

Jim was a man of Faith, he walked with a purpose and he persevered in times of struggle, he stood up when others were in need; he helped those that others turned their back on. His strength allowed him to rise above his health storms with his wife beside him.

His sense of humor was infectious, he was always joking with someone, Jim loved to make people smile, he was a character. To all who had the privledge to love him and know him there will be a large void to fill, fill it with laughter, smiles and a good joke.

The family would like to thank the Home Care staff for their care, and to the staff at the Shangri La Lodge, Thank you.

There will be a Funeral Service held for Jim on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 2 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Drayton Valley, 4309 52 St.
