Douglas Schmidt

DOUGLAS A. SCHMIDT, 74 of Wallace passed away on Monday July 7, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. Doug was born on May 9, 1951 in Marinette to Arnold and Eva (Dragic) Schmidt. On September 14, 1974, Doug married Debbie Bouche at Precious Blood Catholic Church. He drove truck for 54 years, many of those years as an owner/operator. Doug was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing a good trout stream or spending the day chasing deer. He further enjoyed horses and dogs and was known to throw out a good one liner. Most of all, Doug’s greatest passion was his family, especially his grandkids; they were his pride and joy. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and a founding member of Mid-County 114 extrication.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Debbie of Wallace; daughter: Heather Lutz of Stephenson; son: Steve (Elizabeth) Schmidt of Stephenson; 4 grandchildren: Matthew and Alex Lutz and Christopher and Eva Schmidt; brother-in-law: Steve Tickler of Wallace; niece: Sharon (Jeff) Peretto of Wallace; and nephew: Brian Tickler of Daggett.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents: Arnold and Eva; and sister: Debbie Tickler.

Visitation for Doug will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Thursday July 10, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 5:15 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:30 pm at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Father Ben Rivard officiating. Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery.
