Aldean E. Pruett

Aldean E. Pruett

The world has lost a truly great lady.

Aldean E. Pruett, 73, died unexpectedly on November 1, 2021. Born September 12, 1948, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Albert and Geraldine (Hartman) Richard. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1966, and she attended The Ohio State University – Mansfield, where she studied education.

She met the love of her life, Larry Pruett, at a Y dance June 12, 1963, and they were married on May 18, 1968. Aldean worked as the office manager of First Presbyterian Preschool for over 25 years, as well as being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Aldean loved crochet and was a truly gifted crafter, artist, and poet. She enjoyed cooking exquisite soup/stews, mysteries, Perry Mason, and music – especially CountyLine. She was also a supportive friend who played a mean hand of penny poker.

As proud grandma to the “Fab Five,” she could be found cheering at every competition, sport, or activity, and she devoted countless hours to volunteering and support at St. Peter’s Schools.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Larry; her two daughters, Allison (David Miller) Pruett and Laura (Thomas) Allen of Mansfield; the “Fab Five” (Rowan and Ross Pruettmiller, Leah, Teagan and Adrian Allen); and her brother, Gary (Vikki) Richard.

Her loving heart, generous spirit, wicked sense of humor, and beautiful soul will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Wappner Funeral Home on South Diamond Street. Rev. Kevin Moebius will officiate the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. There will be a reception to follow at 5:00 p.m. at St Peter’s Catholic Church basement. Aldean will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date.
