Diane Keeney

Birds can find their way home just like Lady Di found her way home to heaven. Diane Katherine Scott-Keeney was born in Castro Valley, California, on January 31, 1940. She entered into rest at her home in Marysville, CA on March 21, 2023.

Diane touched many lives, and created connections with people everywhere she went. She had a big heart full of love and was very giving and generous. An honest and empathetic person, Diane loved life and enjoyed lots of hobbies. Some included; sewing, baking, gardening, and even pigeon racing. She earned the name Lady Di from winning races with her prize birds. After 20 years of hard work in the manufacturing industry in the Bay Area, Diane retired and bought her home in Marysville.

Taking pride in her home, Diane sewed seasonal curtains, tablecloths and pillows bringing color and warmth to the house. She enjoyed working in the yard and planted fruit trees, rose bushes, flowers and vegetables. Her baking was top notch, from lemon bread to cookies and cakes. Music was important to Diane and she often said, “Music is good for your soul.!” Her music choices ranged from Jazz, to rock and roll, and even some bluegrass. Some favorites were; The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Jim Croce, Johnny Cash and even Snoop Dogg.

Her family is heartbroken and grieving her loss but she left behind a legacy and will never be forgotten.

She was loved and cherished and will be missed by all.

Diane is survived by her three children; Debbie Burdette, Kimberly Scott and Kelly (Ann) Scott; her grandson Sullivan Scott; and her three great grandchildren; Jacob Ortmayer, Sophia Ortmayer, and Sonja Ortmayer.

Per the family’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life TBD at a later date.
