Perry Lewis “Pep” Wiley was born on May 4, 1958, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wiley (Margaret) in Commerce, GA. He was a dedicated musician at Bush River Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until the decline of his health.
He leaves to mourn his only child, Treka Wiley (Connie Winters) of Athens, GA, and his only granddaughter, Ta’Marah Turman. Perry is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Margaret Wiley, as well as his younger brother, Steve Wiley (Sandra), and his brother-in-love, Lammitine Jarrells.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Donald Wiley (Margie) of Commerce, GA; his sister, Odessa Jarrells (the late Lammitine) of Nicholson, GA; and his sister, Gurnelle Roebuck (Frank) of Danielsville, GA. Mr. Wiley also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A special blessing in his life was his nephew, Courtney Wiley.
Perry was an outstanding athlete at Banks County High School and also played in a soul band throughout his high school years.
The first gospel group Mr. Wiley played for was The Rising Stars of Commerce, GA, where he performed for over 20 years. He also played for The Zion Hill Gospel Singers of Carnesville, GA, and later expanded his talents to The Gospel Messengers of Lavonia, GA, Kings Branch Baptist Church, and many others throughout the years.
Perry was an outstanding lead guitarist and was well-known throughout the community. Music was his life!
